New Testament Church of God

Pastor Winston Taylor

pastorPastor Winston Anthony Taylor was born in 1961 in the small town of Winslow, Buckinghamshire. A few years later he and brothers Charles and John and parents Ancil and Adassa relocated to Gloucester.

For the most part, born and raised in a Christian home, Pastor Taylor became a Christian at the age of 17 during an ordinary Wednesday evening testimony service. It was to prove a massive turning point in his young life.

Very soon he was asked and encouraged by his Pastor, the Late Bishop K.G. Walder to give exhortations and to teach the Sunday school. This he did successfully for many years, also serving as Family Training hour leader, church secretary, and both Local and District Director of Youth and Christian Education.

Following a recommendation from his then Pastor, Bishop C.L. Scott he was put forward to become a minister in the New Testament Church of God. Many preaching engagements followed, both within the local church context as well as around the country.
In 1995 Pastor Taylor was selected to join the National Youth & Christian Education Board of NTCG a post he held for some 9 years until December 2004. He remembers this time particularly as a time of enrichment, challenge and blessings…

Little by little, preaching and public speaking skills were honed through speaking at local churches and being invited to minister with other denominations. During this time he was also appointed by the Home Office as a member of the Board of prison visitors and later, again by the Home Office as a member of the Gloucestershire Police Authority.

Winston has always had a love of music and has spent many happy years playing bass guitar in his local church and travelling the country and singing in groups and choirs…..”I really believe God allowed me to join groups such as ‘Petros’ and ‘Heartstrings’ to enhance my ministerial skills and to open me up to a much wider and sometimes non-pentecostal audience…..I know I will treasure these memories and especially the people I have met and grown to love, for the rest of my life”.

Pastor Taylor’s life has been enhanced and enriched by the two people closest to him, his wife of 23 years, Daphne, and his son Ashley. He says; “I could not do the things I need to do for the Lord successfully without the support of my wife and my son. Every day I thank God for giving them to me, I love them both dearly”.

In February 2004, after ‘wrestling with God’ for some time, Winston answered a heavy call upon his life to go into pastoral ministry and was inducted as Pastor of the New Seasons Church on Sunday 17th October 2004.

He says: “I am glad the Lord has brought me here. I have a great deal of love and respect for the people God has given me to work with. He has blessed us in so many ways and in such a short time. I wait with eager anticipation to see a further new move of God in this church and in our community.
